Attitude Is A Really Big Thing

Regardless of your age, your place in life, your occupation, or the ways you choose to spend time, I can guarentee that your attitude is one of the most significant things that determines your happiness and contentment in life. Attitude is so powerful because it is one of the few things that every single person has the ability to be in control of regardless of any other factors in life. When life is going well and we have no complaints we can choose what kind of attitude to face each day with. Fortunately , when our lives seem like they couldn’t get any worse we can also choose what kind of attitude we will have each day. Can you think about a time in your life when your attitude made all the difference? Or, maybe think of an example from the life of someone you know. Can you think of a situation when all things looked grim and yet you or someone else’s attitude made that situation better just by being positive? You may be wondering why it is important to keep a good attitude regardle...

Did You Check Your Confidence Level

Would you like to be confident? Your answer may be – YES. I do want to be confident. However, this answer lacks the impact. It is too generalized. Just like everybody wants to do well in life and be rich but not many ever realize this wish. This is because to actually get somewhere in life, you need to quantify your confidence. You need to define the task for which you need to be confident so that you can execute it successfully. A mere wish to be confident won’t take you anywhere. The dream must have a deadline as well! Self Confidence might mean different things to different people groups. For a child it might mean to be able to recite the poem to her teacher the next morning. For a business executive it might mean to be able to present the business report to the Board of Directors. For a salaried person it may be the ability to be able to make a switch over from his secure job to a new independent venture and so on. To execute their respective tasks, these people need a certain leve...

Choosing Cuff Links For Everyday Wear

Many believe that the way you choose to convey your outward appearance is a reflection of your true self. When you first meet someone, this is your opportunity to make a memorable first impression. If you dress to impress, the people around you will notice because whether or not they realize it, people often make decisions based on appearance. For a man, choosing the right cuff links may not seem important, but these small accessories may very well be the staple that pulls the entire look together. If you want to dress to impress , this doesn’t mean you have to wear uncomfortable shoes and a business suit every day. But, for a man who wears a suit to work, cuff links are a must. If he dresses business casual, which may mean a khaki pant and dress shirt, cuff links will be even more visible than when worn with a suit jacet. As a general rule, cuff links should be made of the same color metal as the belt buckle, watch or wedding band that a man wears. If the accessories match, it will le...

Thinking About Thinking Part 2 Of 2

Like many of my clients, I am always looking for ways to speed things up – to produce more results with the same or even fewer resources. We probably agree on this. The key is certainly not about working harder; it may not even be about working smarter. But there are definitely ideas which work, and those ideas need to be uncovered. Often you can find them through analytical thinking. In my last article I discussed this: a process of asking deliberate questions, and in a disciplined, even rigorous way, coming up with answers. Asking and answering, that’s the analytical thinking process. Do it enough and you will likely come up with something useful. But there is a whole other process, a “something” that goes on in the mind. Many people call it intuition. Others call it “gut feel,” or “tapping the universal spirit.” In contrast to rational, linear left-brain thinking, it is sometimes called “right-brain” thinking, synthetic, or holistic thinking. I’m going to call it unconscious thinki...

Knowledge Is Not Power

Whoever first said that knowledge is power was probably selling encyclopedias. Knowledge is a tool, like money and influence. Tools are only powerful if they are used effectively. How, then, do you make a headful of knowledge into a powerful tool? 1. By seeing clearly what can be done. 2. By seeing clearly your own limitations . 3. By acting on what you know. Wise Action, Not Knowledge, Is Power Investors often learn so much that they think they can consistently predict the course of the stock market. In reality, there are probably fewer than ten old investors that have never lost money. Wise investors know that the best they can do is get the odds in their favor, so they’ll have more wins than losses. You have to see the limitations of knowledge. I can read about how to sing, and even get advice from a voice coach, but I can’t sing well. I’m not saying that I could never sing well, only that right now I cannot. If I’m not willing to do what is necessary, then I would be wise to look...

Four Laws Of The Mind Essential For Effective Self Hypnosis

To make your self hypnosis effective you need to be aware of certain principles. If you are not aware of the following laws of the mind then you may end up creating the opposite of what you desire with your self hypnosis practice. 1. Every thought affects the body as well. In other words, although the mind and the body are understood to be separate in practice it doesn’t work that way. Mental stress can create knots in your back or even give you ulcers. Therefore, Be aware of your thinking. If you are negative all the time to yourself or about your surroundings it is the same as negative self hypnosis. 2. What you expect tends to be realized. If you wake up telling yourself you will have a bad day you probably will. In other words your expectations drive your results. Negative expectations is the same as negative self hypnosis. 3. Imagination is stronger than knowledge. You ‘know’ that ghosts and monsters do not exist. Yet hearing ghost stories at night will create fear. Especially if...

Kill Objections With Sidewinder Precision

It’s one of those days. You make a passionate speech. Then, your mood is dashed as the audience lobs contradiction and rebuttal. You walk away dejected. Hours later the perfect counter-reply pops into your brain. You groan. Why in the world didn’t you think of that earlier??? You could just kick yourself in the butt. Stop for a moment, and consider how many times this happened to you. Once? Twice? A dozen times? People throw us zingers everyday. We deflate, especially when we fail to come up with a PROMPT defense. Consider the following nasties that wreck our day: “You’re late again. You don’t love me.” “That’s lousy work; you’re no good.” “Why are all you religious people so narrow minded?” “If you love me you’ll have sex with me. Since you refuse, you don’t love me.” Don’t you wish you had the perfect answers to these seemingly daunting questions? As you read this and recall the countless frustrations you’ve faced, you naturally begin to wonder why there are some special people who a...

How To Have An Above Average Iq Score

What is the average IQ score? In theory the tests are designed so that half the population will score below 100 and half above, and are scored according to age of the test taker. Here is a breakdown of IQ scores in the typical population: 130 or higher: 2.2% of the population. 120-129: 6.7% of the population. 110-119: 16.1% of the population. 90-109 (Average): 50% of the population . 80-89: 16.1% of the population. 70-79: 6.7% of the population. Below 70: 2.2% of the population. Three Steps To An Above Average IQ Score Is it possible for anyone to have an above average IQ score? Not likely. If you start at 70, for example, it would be tough to ever score over 100. The good news is that most people can raise their score somewhat from wherever they start. Here are three ways to do it: 1. Be a better test taker. Go through the test quickly. Skip over questions you aren’t sure about, and return to them later. It’s always better on a timed test to answer all the easy questions first. That ...
